An Introduction to Ayurveda

Join me for this 3 - hour immersive workshop, exploring the ancient science of ayurveda: an ancient health system and the sister science of yoga.

Never before in history has there been a time when information has been so easily accessible to us. Any question, worry or confusion can seemingly be answered or solved by opening up our laptop or smartphone, typing our queries into a search bar and receiving a multitude of content, sites and videos offering us answers.

How many of us have flocked to our search engines when we feel unwell, or trawled through endless reels to find the answer to our health issues? Most likely, all of us. And yet, with this ever-growing plethora of wellness content at our fingertips (literally), humanity has never been more unwell.

In my experience, and from what I have observed, this platter of information often gives way to more confusion than answers. Of course, there are some basic, scientifically proven facts about our health that do ring true for all human beings — processed food is bad, being outside is good, wearing sunscreen, etc. But there is also so much information given by people who are not medically trained on the internet, so much outside noise telling us “do more of [insert latest health trend] and you’ll feel good”, that it can be a puzzle knowing where to begin.

“What is Medicine for them, may be poison for you”

What to expect:

my main wish through this workshop is share the wisdom and knowledge of health that I have privileged to learn and experience through Ayurveda. This ancient science has helped me un-complicate the mystery of sustaining health and I’m so excited to share some of the tools and tips with you.

Some of the principles we will be exploring are:

Understanding your individual constitution

Health isn't one-size-fits-all. Ayurveda starts with understanding you; your individual constitution (Prakriti), your current imbalance (Vikriti), your digestion, lifestyle and environment.

Food as medicine.

Learn how spices, food combinations, cooking methods and the way we eat can be used to nourish and support the body.

Like attracts like

One of Ayurveda's simplest, yet most powerful principles. Learn how the qualities of your food, environment and lifestyle can influence how you feel, and how to bring yourself back towards balance.

Learning to listen to the body

Instead of asking Google, ask your body. Learn to recognise your body's signals, patterns and cues, and start developing a deeper understanding of what it's actually asking for.

It’s not just what you eat, but how you digest it.

We'll explore Agni, your digestive fire, and simple ways to support and strengthen your digestion.

Seasonal living

Learn how to adapt your food, routines and lifestyle with the changing seasons, rather than working against them.

Reconnect with your body and mind as you escape the noise of everyday life.
